Primerchord was founded in 2018 by award-winning composer Amara Primero, born from a simple belief: the right music doesn’t just support a story - it elevates it. Today, Primerchord is known for its distinctive sound, trusted creative partnerships, and exceptional client experience, working with talented independent composers to craft music for film, television, documentaries, trailers, advertising, and global streaming platforms.
Under Amara’s leadership, Primerchord has supplied music to hit productions including The Real Housewives franchise, The Great Australian Bake Off, Muster Dogs and Bondi Rescue, collaborating with production companies and networks across Australia and internationally. What sets the company apart isn’t just quality, but care: a composer-first, story-first approach that bridges artistry with real-world outcomes.
But Amara doesn't only build soundtracks, she’s building infrastructure. As a screen composer, her credits span film and documentary, including the Amazon Prime feature Shane, and Stille Nacht, which won Best Original Score at the Los Angeles Cinematography Awards. Her work is known for its emotional depth, organic textures, and cinematic storytelling.
As a founder and educator, she is equally committed to opening doors for others. Through Primerchord Academy, Amara delivers mentoring, training, and industry programs designed to demystify screen composition and production music. Teaching composers not only how to write great music, but how to understand licensing, royalties, libraries, and the business mechanics that turn creativity into income.
A proud APRA AMCOS Ambassador, Amara actively advocates for Australian composers and the growth of local production music libraries as global export opportunities. Her mission is to champion homegrown talent and create sustainable pathways for the next generation of screen composers.

Within 5 - 10 minutes you'll receive an email confirmation and an appointment to add to your calendar to work towards - there are key questions to make sure you are clear on prior to any initial mentor meeting to fill out so we're ready at least 24 hours before your session - but as soon as possible is best!

Make sure you come into the sessions open minded, fresh, and ready to make the session effective.
Think about your 1, 3, 6 and 12 month goals - share them and consider what you need to achieve them.

Each mentor will record the meeting and have notes to summarise to you on what you've discussed within 24 hours .
