Ron Haryanto is one of the few creative leaders who has lived in the music industry from every angle.
His strength comes from the depth of perspective gained by moving through every chapter of the creative journey himself, from his own artist career, writing and performing, to touring nationally, leading studios and institutions, and is now Co-Founder of Mentor Academy.
Ron offers direct, one-on-one music industry mentorship that spans songwriting and artist strategy, studio craft, live touring operations, and career direction.
Based in Sydney, Ron works with emerging and mid-career artists, songwriters/topliners, vocalists, producers, and audio engineers across Australia and remotely.
An Artist Career.
Ron began his career as an artist in Australia and across Malaysia and Indonesia, earning a number one single in Malaysia as both writer and performer. These early years shaped his understanding of how creative careers are built from the ground up and how artists and songwriters navigate diverse markets, cultures, and audiences.
He later stepped into the global electronic music world as an established topliner, songwriter, and feature artist published by 120 Publishing (part of TMRW Music Group Australia). His writing and performance credits include multiple number one ARIA Club Chart releases and top ten records across leading international electronic and house music labels. This chapter deepened his understanding of collaborative songwriting, toplining for electronic music, working with producers and DJs across genres, release strategy, and sustaining momentum as a working songwriter.
As an established vocalist, topliner/ songwriter, performer, and frontman, Ron also advises artists on vocal performance (studio and live), songwriting and toplining, and translating recorded work into confident, compelling live performance.
Moving into Leadership Roles.
Ron led two of Australia’s most influential creative institutions as General Manager of Studios 301 and CEO of Abbey Road Institute Australia.
During his time at Studios 301, the studio operated as the busiest and leading recording facility in the country, working daily with international artists, Australia’s most established acts, major record labels, and leading music brands. Ron oversaw major studio transformations, managed Australia’s largest roster of recording and mastering engineers, and worked closely with artists, engineers, producers, and songwriters at all stages of their careers.
He also designed education programs and key industry partnerships that prioritised real-world skills, collaboration, and long-term career sustainability over technical excellence alone, alongside launching an artist development record label, Interface Recordings.
As a tour manager and tour director, Ron has guided multiple national tours through major Australian venues and is the ongoing Tour Manager for the legendary Australian artist Marcia Hines. This reinforced his approach to preparation, budgeting, people management, logistics, and calm leadership under pressure.
A Leading Creative Industry Consultant.
As a consultant and mentor, Ron works with emerging and mid-career creatives to clarify direction, build capability, and create sustainable momentum. His guidance blends strategic clarity with creative intuition and is grounded in over two decades of lived experience across songwriting, recording, touring, performance, leadership, and business.
Throughout his career, Ron has worked hands-on, supporting development beyond advice alone. This has included mentoring in songwriting and toplining (particularly within electronic music), guiding recording and release processes, connecting people with producers and industry peers, and creating real-world recording and songwriting experiences that build confidence, skill, and professional readiness.
Over more than 25 years in the industry, Ron has built a vast, trusted network across the music industry, live events, studios, education, and creative business.
Through Mentor Academy, Ron brings all of this together into a one-on-one mentoring model that is flexible, direct, and focused on long-term growth rather than short-term programs or cohort-based outcomes.
